Mineral:Stilbite with Calcite and Pyrite, plus Almandine Garnet
Locality:700' level, Sta.167, Queens Tunnel of NYC Water Tunnel #3, Woodside, Queens, New York City, New York
Description:Translucent brown bladed stilbite crystals in tapered subparallel aggregates to 4 mm with translucent white calcite crystals to 3 mm and scattered yellow-metallic pyrite microcrystals to 0.5 mm. Note the almandine garnet in the gneiss. Ex. Betts #5111; collected in 1999 at a fault zone by Charles Merguerian during tunnel construction
