Locality:Ötztal (Oetztal), Tyrol, Austria
Description:Large single crystal of dark red almandine garnet in greenish schist. The almandine crystal is translucent, dodecahedral crystal form and has textured surfaces resulting from growing in schist. This specimen probably originated at Granatenkogel Mountain. From my personal collection; ex. Robert C. Lambert (1919-2008) #R-696; ex. Howard Belsky (1958-1987)
