Description: | Lustrous transparent Herkimer Diamond crystal, the doubly-terminated variety of quartz from the Herkimer region, embedded in calcite. Normally Herkimer Diamonds are not found in calcite, which usually dissolves due to ground water in the pocket. From my personal collection; collected in 1997 by Jim Dougherty |
