Mineral:Pyrite with Chalcocite coating
Locality:Milpillas Mine, Cuitaca, Sonora, Mexico
Description:Large gray-metallic pyrite crystal in white dickite-rich matrix. The unusual gray color is caused by a thin (5-10 Ám) layer of chalcocite on the surfaces of the pyrite crystal. The pyrite crystal has a dull luster, not typical of this find. Collected in 2015. Analysis of coating performed from Ben Grguric at South Australian Museum.
