Mineral:Halite over remnants of wood from mine timber
Locality:Wieliczka Mine, Malopolskie, Poland
Description:Lustrous transparent colorless cubic halite crystals with remnants of brown of wood on the bottom that was originally part of the mine support timbers that were coated with halite. The halite crystals fluoresce orange under shortwave UV illumination. Mine first opened in 1200s. Water soluble
