Mineral:Calcite with Chalcopyrite and Hematite
Locality:St. Joe Mineral Resources #3 Mine (now ZCA), St. Lawrence County, New York
Description:Lustrous translucent gray rhombohedral calcite crystals to 18 mm in parallel orientation with partial coating of gray-metallic hematite microcrystals and a few yellow-metallic chalcopyrite crystals to 2 mm. The sides and bottom show cleavage faces. Ex. Schuyler Alverson; collected ca. 1981; Mine is currently closed
