Mineral:Calcite var. Manganocalcite
Locality:Pachapaqui District, Bolognesi Province, Ancash Department, Peru
Description:Lustrous translucent pink rhombohedral calcite crystals with no matrix. The pink color of the calcite is caused by manganese impurities and these are commonly labeled as Manganocalcite. The calcite fluoresce bright orange under UV illumination.
