Locality:Sungate Mine, An Phu, Luc Yen, Yen Bai Province, Vietnam
Description:Many lustrous translucent pink-red octahedral spinel crystals exposed on the surface of fine-grained white marble. One spinel crystal on the left-front are twinned on the octahedral {111} plane following the Spinel Law of isometric twinning. The spinel crystals fluoresce bright red under longwave UV illumination. This mine is now closed.
