Locality:Russell, Hampden County, Massachusetts
Description:Lustrous brown-black almandine garnet crystals on one face of albite-muscovite matrix. The almandine crystals are trapezohedral form with smooth crystal faces. A classic New England garnet specimen collected ca. 1880 from a one-time find. From my personal collection; originally acquired in 1995
