Description: | Lustrous translucent pale-green datolite pseudomorphs after bladed anhydrite crystals to 35 mm with overgrowth of many lustrous yellow-metallic cubic pyrite crystals to 1 mm and rare colorless chalcedony in rounded formations to 6 mm diameter. The chalcedony fluoresces orange under LW UV illumination. Collected 29 December 1996. This quarry is now closed forever and reclaimed |
