Mineral:Chalcocite pseudomorphs after Covellite with Enargite, Pyrite and Quartz
Locality:Butte District, Summit Valley, Silver Bow County, Montana
Description:Platy gray-black chalcocite pseudomorphs after thin bladed covellite crystals to 22 mm with lustrous black striated enargite crystals to 10 mm and yellow-metallic pyrite crystals to 8 mm plus lustrous transparent colorless quartz crystals to 2 mm. Ex. Fred Meissner (1931-2007); originally acquired in 2001 from World Museum of Mining (Butte, MT)
