Mineral:Prehnite pseudomorphs after Anhydrite with Calcite overgrowth
Locality:Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Superb translucent green prehnite pseudomorphs after large anhydrite crystals to 50 mm with scattered translucent white calcite crystals to 4 mm on the surfaces. The anhydrite crystallized first, was overgrown with prehnite, then the anhydrite dissolved. Collected in 1980s to 1990s by Prof. Martin Becker
