Locality:Upper New Street Quarry, Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Description:Sparkling cluster of lustrous transparent deep-purple amethyst quartz crystals over greenish basalt. Inspection under magnification shows two amethyst terminations contacted the opposing cavity wall. Amethyst of this quality was uncommon at this quarry. Collected in 1980s to 1990s by Prof. Martin Becker
