Locality: | Castle Point (Stevens Bluff), Hoboken, (west shore of Hudson River opposite NYC) Hudson County, New Jersey (Type Locality for Brucite) |
Description: | Tan-to-white nemalite, the fibrous variety of the mineral brucite, with remnants of green serpentine. The fibrous structure gives the brucite a chatoyant luster. A rare specimen of brucite from the Type Locality where it was first discovered in 1821. Collected by B. Plotkin ca. 2010 |
