Locality: | Castle Point (Stevens Bluff), Hoboken, (west shore of Hudson River opposite NYC) Hudson County, New Jersey (Type Locality for Brucite and Hydromagnesite) |
Description: | Green serpentine with rounded white hydromagnesite and scalenohedral aragonite microcrystals with foliated brownish-green brucite crystals on one end. A rare specimen of these minerals from the Type Locality where they were first discovered in 1821. Collected by B. Plotkin ca. 2010 |
