Mineral:Barite over Sphalerite and Fluorite
Locality:Elmwood Mine, Carthage. Smith County, Tennessee
Description:Lustrous translucent pale-yellow barite crystals in a 60 mm hemispherical formation over an earlier generation of translucent brown-black sphalerite and transparent purple fluorite. Under magnification the barite is seen to be aggregates of thin blades. Ex. Miller #M227; collected ca. 1995
