Locality:Garnet Hill, 7.5 km WNW of Ely, White Pine County, Nevada
Description:Pristine crystal of dark red almandine garnet nestled in a 2 cm quartz-crystal-lined cavity in pinkish rhyolite. The almandine garnet has classic trapezohedral form, lustrous crystal faces and shows translucency with strong side illumination. Ex. Mike Groben (1928–2015) collection #1089; collected in July 1971
