Locality:Franklin District, Sussex County, New Jersey (Type Locality for Franklinite)
Description:Large black-metallic franklinite crystals with complex crystal form with a variety of faces including octahedral, dodecahedral and trapezohedral resulting in rounded appearances. The calcite fluoresces orange under SW UV (bright) and LW UV (dim). Ex. John A. Manley (1861-1936), author of Trip To Franklin Furnace, New Jersey in the Mineral Collector, May 1899; collected ca. 1890s
