Description:Large (for this locality) transparent-to-translucent red-brown sphalerite crystals with a cleaved bottom contact. Sphalerite is an uncommon mineral in the dolomite-dolostone quarries of northern New York state and prized by local mineral collectors. Ex. Miller collection T390; ex. Betts #53167
