Description: | Linear formation of parallel lustrous black Herkimer Diamonds, the variety of quartz from the Herkimer area, with black hydrocarbon inclusions (locally called Anthraxolite, a non-mineral name). Black Herkimer Diamonds are rare and sought by collectors. Ex. Miller collection T730; ex. E. Greene private collection QRZ-349b; collected September 1994 |
